Foynes Yacht Club had a fantastic few days competing at the J24 Southern Championships, hosted by the Royal Cork Yacht Club in Crosshaven – a world-class venue with a long-standing tradition of excellence in sailing.
Saturday’s and Sunday’s racing took place in ideal conditions, making for highly competitive and enjoyable racing throughout the weekend.
Foynes Yacht Club would like to extend sincere thanks to Admiral Annamarie Fegan and her team at RCYC for the warm hospitality and outstanding event management. Particular appreciation goes to the Race Officer and Race Management Team for their well-set and challenging courses across both days. Thanks to Mark Usher, President of the J24 Association for organising a great event.
Congratulations to the overall event winners – HEADCASE, on a well-deserved victory. In 2nd place was SNOOPY J, followed closely in 3rd place by STOUCHE representing Foynes Yacht Club and crewed by Darragh, Mark, Noel, Mary McCormack, and Oisin Finucane. A brilliant result – well done to all involved.
This event was another strong showing for Foynes Yacht Club on the National J24 Circuit, and we look forward to building on this momentum throughout the season.
