It was an early start this morning for our sailors – for the annual Foynes to Cappa Race. Donal gave the skippers briefing at 8:30am and the race got underway soon after in challenging weather conditions. A few boats turned back, but the rest battled on and finished.
This year’s race was run as a pursuit format – each boat had its own start time, with the first across the line in Cappa winning their class.
Thanks to Darren McGibney for making a BBQ available to us on arrival (everyone brought their own food for the BBQ and enjoyed the banter while cooking), and thanks also to Breda for providing the beautiful desserts.
