We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our esteemed member Geoff McDonnell on Monday 5th May.
Our heartfelt sympathy to his sons Paul and Bryan, his daughter Ruth, his brother Charlie, extended family and friends.
Geoff was a true gentleman and treasured member of our club. He had a deep love for sailing especially mermaid sailing, and took part in many sailing events on his mermaid 129 Kilmoon with his son Paul and friend Gerry Ryan.
You could meet Geoff anywhere in his mermaid up every little creak, when not moored in Foynes you would see him moored in the docks in Limerick under the Ennis Road bridge.
He was a very loyal member of our club, and always supported events on and off the water.
He will be deeply missed by all here at Foynes Yacht Club.
May he rest in eternal peace and reunite with his late wife Margaret who passed away last July.
