We were very saddened to hear of the sudden passing of former Irish Sailing President and Olympic Games Race Officer, Jack Roy.
We were honoured to have Jack and his wife Rosemary at the club on more than one occasion. Jack took a great interest in the development of our club and our young sailors. Former Commodore, James McCormack, was lucky enough to receive the Irish Sailing President’s Award from Jack in 2018, an honour!
Heartfelt condolences to Rosemary and the extended Roy family at this very sad time.
Irish Sailing has lost an outstanding Ambassador and a true gentleman.
